"The Loft" is located within the Pine Lakes Club House. The second story has two bedrooms each with 2 XL twin beds (equivalent to 1/2 of a king bed) that are Serta Presidential Suite top of the line sleeping. It has a kitchen with stove, refrigerator and microwave. The main living area has a dining table for 2 with leather furniture and a large screen TV. The bathroom has a shower. We also furnish all the bedding, toweling, shampoo and soaps.

This half-scale replica of Apollo 11’s lunar landing module, which is nearly 13 feet tall and 12 feet wide, marks the site where the first man on the moon, Neil Armstrong, took off during his first airplane ride at the age of six.

The future astronaut developed an early interest in flying and on July 26, 1936, young Neil and his dad, embarked on that first airplane ride in a Ford Tri-Motor airplane -- a Tin Goose -- from Warren Airways located on Parkman Road. Thirty-three years later -- and almost to the day of that first airplane ride -- Neil Armstrong made history when he was the first man to step on the moon's surface.

Near the entrance to the site is an Ohio historical marker honoring another US astronaut, Dr. Ronald Parise.

Dr. Parise was a payload specialist for the Columbia and Endeavor space shuttle missions in 1990 and 1995. He held planning and communications engineering support roles for human space flight projects including the Russian space station Mir, the International Space Station and the X-38, a vehicle intended to return astronauts to Earth from space.

Established in 2010, local non-profit organization providing programming and projects, including the Warren Farmers Market and the Trumbull County Land Bank, that improve the quality of life in the neighborhoods of Warren.

Originally the site of one of the first Methodist churches in the country, now home to the Bazetta-Cortland Historical Society and community and social functions. In the late 1800s it became the Opera House, producing stage productions and minstrel shows. Available to rent for meetings or events.

Located at the intersection of State Routes 87 and 193, this national historic district area has 12 buildings listed on the National Historic Registry. The prominent architecture styles include both Greek Revival and Federal.

Now a private residence, this unique eight-sided house, which contains eight trapezoid-shaped rooms, was the boyhood home of Clarence Darrow, the nationally acclaimed lawyer in the The State of Tennessee v. John Thomas Scopes ("Scopes Monkey Trial").

The center of town, better known as the "Commons", is surrounded by 28 buildings, 21 of built before the Civil War and are included on the National Register of Historic Places.  Today it is part of the fourth-largest Amish Settlement in the country and second-largest in Ohio.

14-room Victorian Mansion, included on the National Register of Historic Places, situated in a park-like setting with formal gardens. Home of the Niles Historical Society, it features over 5,000 items including reproductions of several First Ladies' gowns, as well as artifacts displaying the city's heritage and industrial legacy.

This memorial and library honors the 25th President of the United States, William McKinley, who was born and raised in Niles, Ohio.

It’s a classic example of Greek architecture and was built with Georgian marble and has two lateral wings. A statue of the former President graces the “Court of Honor” and the museum contains artifacts of McKinley’s life and presidency. He was the only President who entered the Civil War as an enlisted man and the last Civil War veteran to become President.

Formed in 1999, dedicated to the preservation of the North Bloomfield community and the restoration of the Town Hall built in 1893. The mission of the organization is to share the stories and events that have shaped the community since it was settled in 1815. Meetings are held the first Thursday of the month in the Town Hall which serves as the home for many historical artifacts and memorabilia from the area.

One of the oldest judicial facilities of its kind in Ohio, the Romanesque-style structure was completed in 1897, making it the third courthouse to occupy the location in Courthouse Park. It was placed on the National Registry of Historic Sites in 1975.

Originally built in 1871 as the home of civic leader Henry Bishop Perkins and his family, this Victorian Italianate mansion features stained glass skylight, marble fireplaces, hand cut crystal chandeliers, and intricate woodwork, and has served as Warren's City Hall since 1934.

The building is open Monday-Friday during regular business hours. A self-guided walking tour brochure can be obtained from the Trumbull County Tourism Bureau located next door at 321 Mahoning Avenue NW in downtown Warren.

This park, which is on the east bank of the Mahoning River and includes a reconstructed log cabin built on the site of Warren's first Schoolhouse (circa 1804), commemorates the sacrifices of local citizens in military service.

In 2008 the new Trumbull County Veterans Memorial was added. Built by volunteers from local building trade organizations with monetary donations from local businesses, organizations and residents, the memorial includes a World War II statue and a Wall of Honor. The Wall, which is comprised of bricks inscribed with individual names of veteran servicemen and women, honors and memorializes those who have served our country.

Home to Millionaires Row, where the "Who's Who" of industry, commerce and politics lived in stately mansions that lined the street during the 1800s. Today the mansions are museums, businesses and private residences.

Now home to the Trumbull County Tourism Bureau, this building once served as the headquarters for the Connecticut Land Company where tracts of land were sold.

Built by General Simon Perkins in 1840, this national historic site became the home of women’s suffrage leader Harriet Taylor Upton in 1887. It also served as the headquarters for the National American Women’s Suffrage Association from 1903 until 1905 when it was moved to the Courthouse. In 1909 the organization relocated to New York City.

Harriet Taylor Upton was Warren's national celebrity at the turn of the 20th century. Born on December 17, 1854, in Ravenna, Ohio, she moved with her family to Warren, Ohio in 1862.

Harriet's widowed father, Judge Ezra B. Taylor, was appointed to Congress in 1880. Harriet accompanied him to Washington, D.C., where she served as his hostess and companion. There she became a favorite in society, both for her literary ability and her amiability of character. She married Attorney George Upton in 1884. They had no children.

Because of her familiarity with the Washington political scene she was a natural to represent the cause of women's suffrage. In 1890, Harriet committed herself completely to the suffrage movement. For the next 30 years she was dedicated to the passage of the 19th amendment, giving women the right to vote. She worked closely with her mentor, Susan B. Anthony, with whom she formed a lasting friendship. Through her political involvement, she became friends with Presidents Hayes, Garfield, McKinley, Harding and Hoover. It was said by the Washington Post, "Mrs. Upton is without a doubt the best liked and wisest suffrage worker in the country...”

The house was Harriet's home until 1931 when at the age of 76 she lost it in a sheriff's sale. Penniless she moved to California to live out her days with relatives. She later died in 1945 at the age of 90 in Pasadena and her ashes were interred in a pauper's grave. In October 2011, after receiving permission from Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mary Thornton House, Harriet's ashes were returned to Warren and re-interred during a special memorial ceremony in her beloved garden behind the Upton House.

This new Trumbull County museum honors local aviators’ contributions to the field of aviation and bears the name of one of America’s most well-regarded aeronautical pioneers, Ernest C Hall. Among this veteran Warren, Ohio aviator and flying school instructor’s flight teachers were the Wright Brothers.

The museum is filled with local, national and international aviation memorabilia from the birth of the industry through present day. Visitors can see items such as letters written between Hall and Orville Wright; signatures from pilots such as Amelia Earhart and Chuck Yeager; and a piece of fabric from the Fokker DR-1 Triplane that Manfred von Richthofen – better known as the Red Baron – flew when he was shot down and killed in 1918.

Hall owns the distinction of being continuously involved in all facets of the aviation industry for 50 years -- longer than anyone else. One of the planes he designed and constructed is housed in the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum in Washington, DC. Another Hall-designed aircraft is on display at the US Air Force Museum in Dayton.

This museum features the history of the Packard family, the Packard Motor Car and other Packard enterprises. It hosts a number of special exhibits throughout the year including the annual Antique Motorcycle Exhibit every January-May and its Packard Legacy Weekend in July.

Located on the second floor of the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library in downtown Warren, this museum features the life and times of the Sutliff family — from pioneer times of the Ohio Western Reserve through the days of the Civil War to the height of the Victorian era. Members of the Sutliff family were active in the local abolition movement and conductors on the Underground Railroad.

Designated as a Freedom Station by the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center Cincinnati, this exhibit provides a glimpse of local anti-slavery sentiments from the 1820s to the 1850s. It is located on the second floor of the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library in downtown Warren, directly outside the doors of the Sutliff Museum and is available for viewing during regular library hours.

The historic Kinsman House, which was built in 1832 by General Simon Perkins as a wedding gift for his daughter Olive Douglas Perkins and her husband, Frederick Kinsman, today serves as the home of the Warren Heritage Center.

The brick structure features an original full-width veranda with two-story columns. The interior contains white marble fireplaces, a black walnut staircase and woodwork and arched doorways. Imported Florentine glass in the side lights and transom of the front door adorn the house.

The Warren Heritage Center tells the story of the City of Warren and its role as the first economic and government center of the historic Connecticut Western Reserve. It collects, preserves and interprets artifacts from the City's past and maintains and conserves existing and future collections for exhibitions and educational programs.

The Kinsman House, which is handicap- accessible for the physically-impaired, is available to rent for meetings, dinners and special occasions. Arrangements can be made through the Warren Heritage Center.

Erected in 1863, two years prior to the ending of the civil war, this monument is located at the cross roads of State Route 45 and State Route 88 in the town of Bristolville. Etched in the stone monument are the names of 14 area men who died in the war. In 2005 a historical marker was placed along the road making it officially Ohio’s first civil war memorial.

This house was built in 1894 for Owen and Mary Morgan and was one of the largest homes on Warren’s “Millionaires’ Row.” Owen Morgan was co-owner of the Williams & Morgan Carriage Manufacturing Company, which produced the bodies for the first Packard automobiles.

Today, the house serves as a History Center, serving in multiple functions, including local historical research, events, and exhibits.  The Center is open Wednesday-Friday 1p-4p and Saturday 10a-4p.

 A museum containing the archives and treasures of a small community on the Mahoning River.

This home was saved from destruction in 1990 by Mary Lou Godleski.  Mary Lou was researching her family history and discovered the home was once owned by her great, great grandfather.  The restoration on this 1843 Pennsylvania style bank house began in 2003.  It is preserved with original elements and period materials and reproductions.

Open houses are on the second Sunday of each month April to November 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.  Contact directly for group tours.

Sheltered underneath a canopy of giant maple trees and carpeted with lush green grass, the Mahoning Avenue Pioneer Cemetery is one of the few places in Warren that looks just the same today as it would’ve two hundred years ago. While walking through, the hustle and bustle of nearby Mahoning Avenue dissipate into a melodic forest song, punctuated by the notes of robins' tweets and squirrel chirps no matter what the season. Situated on 1.4 acres of land formerly belonging to Henry Lane Jr. who arrived at Warren from Washington County, Pennsylvania in the spring of 1800 with his family. Lane Jr. donated the use of this tract to the then-budding village for use as a public burial ground––the first in the city. 

Out of all the cemeteries in Trumbull County, one, in particular, seems like a relic from New England itself: the Kinsman Presbyterian Cemetery, or Old Presbyterian Cemetery. A sizable tract of land at the corner of State Street and Church Street with lanky trees framing the outskirts of the grounds along the road. Inside the cemetery itself, headstones, obelisks, and cast-iron fences all rise against a beautiful Greek Revival church, giving the appearance of a colonial churchyard. One of the oldest cemeteries in Trumbull County, the Kinsman Presbyterian Cemetery got its start in April of 1804 when John Kinsman, the township’s namesake selected this spot as the resting place for John Tidd. 32 years old at the time of his death, Tidd had been a bachelor from Easton, Northampton County, Pennsylvania who became sick with fever and died––becoming the first death in the township. Although he was buried in an unmarked grave, the cemetery began to fill up with headstones fast as more and more settlers from the East arrived, and the trials of pioneer life often proved fatal.

A tract of land longer than it is wide along the south side of Dennison-Ashtabula Road, the East Greene Cemetery is a bucolic pioneer burial ground set at the edge of a forest glade. Guarded by a chain link fence around the perimeter and stately trees in the back, rows upon rows of weatherworn headstones stand to greet those who cross the gate’s threshold. Established somewhat later than other cemeteries we’ve examined in this series, the East Greene Cemetery came into existence in February 1832 with the death of William Cowden, the young son of Simpson Cowden who emigrated to this area from Randolph, Cattaraugus County, New York. Used throughout the 19th century well into the early decades of the 20th, the last burial here took place in 1923. The cemetery is occasionally referred to as the “Kenilworth Cemetery'' in some publications, as a mile to the north, the once thriving community of Kenilworth existed at the corners of State Route 87 and Dennison–Ashtabula Roads. Having a post office, general store, and inn, the community was a popular stop along the Cleveland to Meadville stagecoach route. In order to easily find the graves featured in this presentation, markers are listed in order of appearance as one walks through the cemetery, starting at the front gate headed left, as well as photographs for easy identification.

The story of the Niles Union Cemetery is unlike any other cemetery in Trumbull County, as it is a phoenix, having risen from the ashes following great destruction. Originally known as the “Jack Oak Burying Ground'' for the type of trees which populated the grounds during the early 19th century, this cemetery got its start in 1806 when Hannah Heaton, the six year old daughter of James Heaton––Niles’ founding father, passed away and was buried in what is now the southeast corner of the cemetery. Initially only an acre in size, the first burials were largely confined to an area around Hannah’s grave. Members of the Heaton family made up the first few decades of burials, so much so that it’s said that in 1835 an unnamed settler upon examining the cemetery stated “why this township is all settled by Heatons, and they are all dead!” However, by the late 1830s, as the community of Niles grew bigger and more people filled in, the cemetery started to expand outwards upon the full acre of land with burials gradually fanning north towards Niles-Cortland Road and an undeveloped tract of land to the east. On March 28th, 1863, upon being deeded to Weathersfield Township by Oliver and Henry Kyle, the Jack Oak Burying Ground became the Niles Union Cemetery, and with this transaction, gained an additional 1.08 acres of land. In 1870, wealthy ironmaster William Ward, who owned land directly east of the cemetery, sold Weathersfield Township trustees 8 acres of land, which when added onto the first two plots, totaled the cemetery's size to a square ten acres. Subsequently seeing more additions in 1873, 1895, 1905 and 1915; by time expansion ceased in 1930, the cemetery had grown to a rolling 40 acres in size, with the original “pioneer” tract surrounded by new lots and gradually falling into disuse. In the 1970s, as Niles (and much of the Mahoning Valley) was on the decline due to deindustrialization, the Niles Union Cemetery faced its own challenges: vandalism and a lack of upkeep. While both of these traits are by no means unique to this cemetery alone, they were nothing compared to the events that occurred a decade later on May 31st, 1985.

Tucked behind the quaint New England-style village green of Vienna Center is the Vienna Memorial Cemetery. Informally established in 1805 upon the township’s first death, that of Abiel Bartholomew, a native of Waterbury, Connecticut, Bartholomew was killed while felling a tree with his son, Ira on January 4th of that year. In the winter following his death, a deed for the village green, as well as the corresponding land that the grave sat on was issued. However, it wasn’t until June 20, 1810, that the deed would be officially recorded by the Trumbull County Recorder’s Office. Given to the township by Connecticut Land Company proprietors Ephraim Root and Urial Holmes, the future home of the Vienna Memorial Cemetery was described in the document as “eight acres” of “cleared and improved land North and West of the Centre Point'.” Purchased by the Presbyterian Society, a non-religious, business-minded branch of the local Presbyterian Church for $20, the tract was soon divided up with six acres going to the Society, while two of the southernmost tracts surrounding Abiel’s grave formed the basis of the Memorial Cemetery.

Faithfully serving as a resting place for Vienna Township’s dead for over 130 years, the original cemetery, or what is now known as the “Old Section” was closed to any new interments in 1938 with the addition of “Section 1” to the north. Giving the cemetery an additional 216 plots for use, it is this tract that is still in public use today. However, for this article, we will be looking at the Old Section, which naturally contains the remains of many of Vienna Township’s historical residents. To easily find the graves featured in this presentation, markers are listed in order of appearance as one walks through the cemetery, starting at the front gate, as well as photographs for easy identification.

The Packard Automobile Ohio History Barn mural in Champion Township, Ohio. This mural is a partnership between the Trumbull County Tourism Bureau, the Packard Museum, the Trumbull County Historical Society, and Ohio History Connection to showcase the legacy of the Packard Automobile. Don and Helen Fenstermaker's barn is located near the company’s original location in Warren, Ohio.

This is the eighth in a series of barns that will showcase innovators, innovations or accomplishments from Ohio history. Previously completed Ohio History Barns include: President Rutherford B. Hayes (Sandusky County), Annie Oakley (Darke County), Zoar Village Bicentennial (Tuscarawas County), Massillon Tigers vs. Canton-McKinley Football Rivalry (Stark County), Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry (Ottawa County), Tecumseh (Greene County) and first-ever Medal of Honor recipient Jacob Parrott (Hardin County). The Ohio History Connection plans to continue this project with other barns and important topics across Ohio.

Mr. Fenstermaker also has a personal connection to Packard: he worked there for 35 years, as did his mother and many other relatives. He says that he feels lucky to have worked at Packard during its heyday and adds, “we are proud to have been chosen to have the barn painted and we would like to thank the Trumbull County Tourism Bureau, the state of Ohio, and painter Scott Hagan for working with us on the project.”

Mary Ann Porinchak, Executive Director of the National Packard Museum in Warren, said, “The first Packard Motor Car was built in Warren in 1899 at the Packard Electric Company. The manufacturing of this successful automobile brought about the formation of the Ohio Automobile Company, which evolved into the Packard Motor Car Company in 1902. The Packard Motor Car Company was a major automobile manufacturer in the United States during the first half of the 20th century that produced elegant, expensive, and top-of-the-market cars.”

The mural is the work of barn artist Scott Hagan, who also painted the 88 Ohio Bicentennial Barns. Hagan employs hand painting techniques he has developed over several years to recreate designs formulated by Columbus-area graphic designer David Browning. 

Beth Kotwis Carmichael, Executive Director of the Trumbull County Tourism Bureau, says, “We’re very excited to have the opportunity to share both our area’s story and its ties to the larger story of Ohio history through this large-format art installation.” She continues, “We’re thrilled that we were selected so early in the Ohio History Connection Project. This barn painting will prompt visitors to explore this and other sites in Trumbull County, and we encourage both visitors and residents alike to take in the legacy left by the Packard family to this area.”

This local entertainment company brings River Rock at the Amp Tribute Concerts to the outdoor Community Amphitheatre in downtown Warren nearly every Saturday night during the summer months. And throughout the year just up the street from the Amphitheatre, Sunrise Entertainment productions take center stage at Packard Music Hall located on the grounds of Packard Park and Powers Auditorium at the DeYor Center and Stambaugh Auditorium both in Youngstown.

The Warren Civic Chorus is a non-profit organization established to foster and promote choral music in and around Warren and is always seeking talented new voices ages 14 & older.

It annually presents two holiday seasonal performances of George Frederic Handel's "The Messiah" to kick-off the advent season. Accompanied by the Warren Philharmonic Orchestra with solo work by local music professionals, the Chorus traditionally offers this annual concert the first Sunday of December at 3:00 and 7:00 pm at Blessed Sacrament Parish in Warren.

More commonly known as the “Pride of Warren since 1955”, the band offers a free monthly concert to the local community throughout the year. During the winter, concerts are held inside the Packard Music Hall. In the summer, the concerts are performed outdoors on the south lawn.

This exhibition presents many works of art never previously seen together. The exhibit speaks to a wide audience including Boy Scout enthusiasts, fans of Norman Rockwell, illustrators, painters and the general public who appreciate great art.

Currently on Display: Carole A. Feuerman - The Importance of Being Human

Titled “The Importance of Being Human,” Carole A. Feuerman's 18-piece exhibition will be on display until Feb. 1.

Feuerman was one of the founders of the hyperrealism art movement in the 1970s. She is best known for her works of swimmers and dancers and is the only sculptor in the world creating hyperreal art installations for outdoor display. The exhibition will also include “Monumental Quan,” a larger-than-life Feuerman sculpture that will be permanently displayed on the front lawn of the Medici, said Katelyn Amendolara-Russo, curator and director of the museum.

Carole A. Feuerman’s work is already in the permanent collections of 31 museums.

This versatile public assembly facility, which is owned by the City of Warren and managed by JAC Management, is the center for cultural and entertainment programs in Trumbull County.

With 7,000 square feet of space, a seating capacity of nearly 2,500 and a permanent stage, this venue is host to a number of events ranging from theatre, ballet and concert productions to gala balls, dance recitals and high school graduations as well as trade and consumer shows.

Packard Music Hall is also home to several local organizations, including the W D Packard Band and the Warren Civic Music Association.

Nestled in Vienna Township this 9 hole course has two tees positions for various skill levels. The longest hole is 3061 yards. 

This tree-lined classic 18-hole golf course was designed by Canadian Stanley Thompson and is one of the oldest championship caliber courses in the Midwest. It features five sets of tees ranging from 4,990 to 7,372 yards.

Nestled in a parkland layout, this 18-hole course is one of the premier courses designed by world-renown golf course architect, Pete Dye, and is consistently ranked in the top 100 golf courses by multiple golf publications.

This par 72 course offers five sets of tees ranging from 4,904 to 7,551 yards and features undulating greens, beautiful terrain and plenty of water. Indoor golf simulators are available rain or shine.

Old Avalon Golf Course, owned by the city of Warren, is a classic layout design that has been a favorite for thousands of golfers in northeast Ohio.  Known for its small greens, the front nine begins with a difficult starting hole that will test you right from the start.  The back nine is where the course really stands out.  Tree-lined fairways, three two-tiered greens, and the difficult loop of holes #11-15 are a tough test for any level of golfer.  The Old Course plays to a par of 71.

Old Avalon's driving range is one of the best public practice facilities in the area.  Other amenities include PGA golf instruction, club fitting, clubhouse, snack bar, retail golf shop, and a pavilion that can accommodate up to 150 guests for golf outings and parties. 

This daily morning newspaper serves Warren, Ohio and the Mahoning Valley area in northeastern Ohio and is the second oldest paper in the state. Known locally as The Trib, this broadsheet newspaper is owned by the Ogden Newspapers chain headquartered in Wheeling, WV. This volunteer organization works to support, protect and promote Mosquito Lake State Park. Those who enjoy spending time outdoors and are in search of a volunteer project are welcome to join.

This kayak rental and livery service is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, May through September. Kayak rentals are available by reservation and can be made online. Rentals include the ride, boat, paddle and life jacket. Choose from a short 3.7 mile or long 11-mile self-guided trip. Group rates are available and shuttle services can be provided for personal boats.

Inside Mosquito Lake State Park, offering bait and tackle, food and marine accessories. Other amenities include a launch ramp, boat and kayak rentals and the only water accessible fuel on the lake. 

Disc golf is played similarly to golf, only with the use of discs in lieu of a ball and baskets instead of holes, although the baskets themselves are often referred to as “holes” and the starting points, which may be a simple marker or cement pad, as “tees.” Players throw discs toward the golf holes, attempting to make as few throws as possible before reaching the destination. Disc golfers may select from many types of discs at any time while playing a disc golf hole. A driver, generally flat and designed to travel long distances, is typically the first type of disc used when tackling a new disc golf hole. Mid-range discs tend to be thicker than drivers, offer a bit more control to the user, and are best used for moderate-throwing distances. The bulkier putters are designed for short tosses, offering better maneuverability in place of distance.

Storybook trails let families walk their way through some of Ohio’s most picturesque trails while learning about different aspects of nature from authors who were inspired by it.

Ohio’s Storybook Trails bring books to life for children and families. Storybook Trails are lined with pages from a children’s book to blend the fun of outdoor exploration with reading. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources launched the Storybook Trail program in 2019 to promote the importance of literacy, a healthy lifestyle, and connecting with nature.

accessible from anywhere via I-76 and I-80.

This 32-acre park sits next to the Trumbull Campus of Kent State University and is the home of Young’s Run Disc Golf Course. Free to the public, this playing area features a challenging 18-hole permanent course and an 18-hole tournament layout.

Selected as an observation site for Trumbull County’s Audubon Christmas bird counts because of its mix of wooded and open spaces, this park is also a location for geo-caching, an adventure game played by GPS (global positioning system) users. Rumor has it that multiple caches can be located here.

The park features a 32-car parking lot and offers a pavilion with seating for up to 75 and can be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.

This public off-leash exercise facility allows dogs to run, play and socialize in a safe, legal area.

This site offers two separate fenced-in areas: the larger section is for general dog play, while the smaller is for puppies and shy and small dogs not quite ready for the larger area. For dogs who love to swim, access to the lake is provided.

Enjoy baseball and softball fields, picnic facilities, grills and playgrounds.

This nearly 4,000-acre park, which is one of the most visited state parks in Ohio, offers year-round recreational activities.

During the summer months, water recreation rules. Five launch ramps provide access to the water. Jet skis, pontoon boats, fishing and paddle boats are available to rent and there‘s a 600-foot beach for swimming.

Fifteen miles of hiking trail meander through the park and along its shoreline while horseback riders enjoy access to the park’s interior on a 10-mile wooded bridle trail. Mountain bikers are permitted on five miles of a multi-use trail.

The park offers 234 campsites, including 218 with electrical hook-ups that are situated among tall trees in a mature forest as well as those with shoreline access and panoramic views.  For additional information on camping, click here!

Fishing is popular throughout the year, with plentiful catches of walleye, bass, northern pike and crappies. Hunting is permitted within designated times and areas of the park and in the nearby Grand River Wildlife Area. Controlled hunts by draw are conducted in the Mosquito Wildlife Refuge at the north end of the lake in North Bloomfield.

Picnic areas, including tables and grills, can be found throughout the park.

In the winter months, snowmobiles can be found buzzing along miles of shoreline and wooded trails. Ice fishermen dot the frozen lake while ice skaters glide along the smooth surface. Cross country skiers take advantage of the miles of flat trails.

Birding enthusiasts will enjoy the many trails located throughout the park property and will find a haven of waterfowl and shorebirds during spring and fall migration periods. Additionally, bald eagles may be seen as they patrol the area for food.

A recent Ohio DNR census of bald eagle nests in the state has found that Trumbull County is among the highest populated counties in the state with 26 recorded nests.

Access for this nature trail is from Howland Township Park. Enjoy the sights and sounds of being outside and close to nature.

This nearly 5,000-acre wildlife area stretches northwest along Pymatuning Creek from Orangeville to Kinsman and crosses through four townships.

Much of Shenango’s habitat is beaver swamp that is interspersed with upland fields and woodlands. Waterfowl, furbearers and songbirds are abundant. In the spring, this is an excellent place to watch woodcock mating flights at dawn and dusk.

The fish population at Pymatuning Creek includes largemouth bass, white crappies, sunfish, bullheads, carp and suckers. Spring is the best time to fish, with both live and artificial baits working effectively. The most productive bass fishing has been by canoe and casting lures.

One of the finer waterfowl marshes is located north of State Route 87 along Pymatuning Creek. From October to December and again in the spring, large numbers of migrant waterfowl can be found here.

Raccoon, muskrat and beaver are abundant. Other inhabitants include the fox squirrel, ruffed grouse, turkey, white-tailed deer, woodcock and pheasant. The cottontail rabbit is the most predominant upland game species in the area.

Canoeists and kayakers will find beautiful scenery and an opportunity to observe nature from the water. Hikers and birding enthusiasts will enjoy the variety of both nesting and migrant birds that use the area.

Parking lots are situated throughout the wildlife area.

This nearly 18-acre park, which began operation in 1920, is the oldest park in the system and has a rich history of regatta events. An excellent area for fishing as well as a launch and pullout site for canoes and kayaks on the Mahoning River Water Trail, this park is the designated pullout point before the Leavittsburg Dam.

It is 3.66 miles downstream from the Thomas A Swift MetroPark and 4.08 miles upstream from Burbank Park in Warren, the next pullout point on the Mahoning River.

The park features a 22-car parking lot and space for four boat trailers. It offers picnic areas and grills, features nature trails and is a convenient stop along the Ohio Bicycle Route J.

This 12-acre park, which is located at the intersection of the Mahoning River and the proposed Western Reserve Heritage Trail between Youngstown and Cleveland, provides excellent fishing and nature observation opportunities along with a half-mile walking path.

This park provides a launch and pullout site for the Mahoning River Water Trail and is located 3.66 miles upstream from the Canoe City MetroPark and is 4.08 miles downstream from Rotary Park on the Mahoning River Water Trail.

This 9,021-acre waterfowl-management area is located west of the Mosquito Creek Reservoir and includes lands that are flat and poorly drained as well as 830 acres of marsh and two ponds.

It provides a regional nesting place for Canada geese, a resting area for migratory waterfowl, quality public hunting opportunities and a place for wildlife enthusiasts to observe a large number of waterfowl and birds associated with wetlands.

Controlled waterfowl and deer hunting are offered by permit. Largemouth bass, northern pike, walleye, bluegills, bullheads, crappies, channel fish and white bass comprise the game fish population in the Mosquito Creek Reservoir.

Birding enthusiasts will find both nesting and migrant birds using the area. Spring migration brings shorebirds and warblers and fall brings the hawks. Red-tailed and marsh hawks are a common sight in the summer. Some rare and unusual birds that have been spotted include the African cattle egret, bald and golden eagles, white pelican, glossy ibis, king rail, goshawk, osprey and long-eared owl.

Canada geese have at times numbered 13,000. Small flocks of migrant blue and snow geese often stop over in the fall. Wood ducks and mallards are the most common, followed by teal, scaup and black ducks. Nearly 300 whistling swans use the area for close to six weeks in the spring and smaller numbers stop for shorter periods in the fall.

The area is also home to one of Ohio’s rarer species of reptiles: the eastern massasauga rattlesnake.

In Trumbull County, this 24-mile multi-purpose, linear trail has been designed for walking, hiking, biking and horseback-riding.  Including the trail in surrounding counties, one can enjoy over 42 miles of connected trail.

Surrounded by nature and safe from traffic, hikers, bicyclists, horseback riders, inline skaters and joggers can all enjoy this trail as it crosses through farmland and lush woodlands, travels over gently rolling hills and passes scenic waterways.

Utilizing the abandoned Penn Central 714 rail line, the Greenway runs parallel with State Route 45 and is part of the Great Ohio Lake-to-River Greenway, a 100-mile trail that is currently under construction and will ultimately cross four counties as it stretches from Ashtabula on Lake Erie to East Liverpool along the Ohio River. More than 70 miles have been completed.

This trail stretches nearly 23 miles of the East Branch of the Mahoning River and provides good locations for paddling, fishing and nature observation. Access to the river and other amenities are available at six parks currently open to the public: Foster MetroPark; Newton Falls City Park; Thomas A Swift MetroPark; Canoe City MetroPark; and both Burbank and Packard Parks. 

One of the best ways to enjoy the river is by renting kayaks from Mahoning River Adventures!  Basic safety instruction is offered, and then river riders can choose between a short 3.7-mile (2 hour) jaunt or a longer 11-mile (6 hour) course for those who want to make a day of it.

This preserve area, which consists of 142 acres, has been developed to allow the best balance between visitor access to nature including animals, plants and other natural features. Nearly three miles of a single-track trail has been developed by volunteers that can be used by hikers and off-road bicyclists.

Located on North Road in Warren/Howland Township between East Market Street and US 422, the site includes parking at a lot on the corner of Candlelight and Harvard Drives off of North Road.

Located northeast of West Farmington, this outdoor-enthusiast paradise is comprised of 7,231 acres and includes the Grand River, five tributary streams, 12 ponds, 15 man-made marshes and numerous beaver impoundments. As part of the largest semi-wilderness area remaining in heavily populated northeastern Ohio, many consider this forested land to be the only public hunting area in the vicinity where even the most experienced outdoorsmen should take precautions against becoming lost. White tail deer, wild turkeys, ruffed grouse and waterfowl are the principal game species found here. Cottontail rabbits, fox squirrels, ring-necked pheasants and raccoons are plentiful and woodcock and snipe frequent the area.

Spring offers good fishing for walleyes and suckers in the Grand River while carp and most panfish are plentiful all season long. Panfish, bass and pickerel are major species of fish that inhabit the ponds.

Wildlife enthusiasts can take advantage of a three-quarter=mile observation trail that includes a boardwalk that crosses a beaver impoundment where beavers, river otters and a great variety of songbirds can be observed.

Located north of the Ohio Living Lake Vista Retirement Center, this 144-acre site is a partnership park with the City of Cortland and includes a parking lot, sled-riding hill and a connector trail to the existing Turkey Run Trail that borders a portion of the east side of Mosquito Lake. This park is also a good location for hiking, walking, cross country skiing and nature observation.

This unique family-owned old-time general store is located in the heart of Amish Country and serves the local Amish community as well as provides visitors a glimpse into the past. One of the oldest general stores in Ohio, it has been in continuous operation since 1840.

Just steps away from the store entrance is a 15’ woodcarving featuring a frontiersman reminiscent of early settlers living in the area that was carved from a 350-year-old oak tree stump.

Our orchard, located at the heart of Hartford, OH, can be traced back to the Clark family who purchased the main orchard at the end of the Civil War. Clarence "Pa" Eucker farmed in Ravenna until 1940 when he was bought out and purchased the west orchard from the McCafferty family. Desperate for a place to store the apples, Pa made a deal to purchase the main orchard from the Clark family who had recently installed a new cooler in the 1930s. After serving as a seabee in World War II, Ernie joined the operation with his father and younger brother Walt in 1945. The boys later took over the orchard after Clarence passed away in 1964. Ernie Eucker took over in 1971 due to Walt severely suffering from Alzheimer's. Brian, Ernie's youngest son, took over the operation in 1988 and ran it until the Schwartz family purchased it in April 2017.

Without donations of gently-used furniture, clothing and household items, a mother would not receive pots and pans to cook for her family, a child would still be sleeping on a hard, cold floor, or a father would not have a suit to wear to a job interview.

The items that you no longer have a use for could give a local family hope for their future. The Mahoning Valley Scrappers are affiliated with Major League Baseball (MLB) under a long term partnership. The league will focus on top college level prospects who are eligible to be drafted that summer by MLB teams. The partnership preserves high level baseball in the Mahoning Valley for years to come.

MLB Draft League participants will receive unprecedented visibility to MLB club scouts through both in-person observation and state-of-the-art scouting technology along with educational programming designed to prepare them for careers as professional athletes. PBR will provide support for the league’s staffing, player and coach recruitment, on-field operations and administrative functions. PBR will also use their media and technology platforms to promote the league and its players throughout the season. Plans include a 68-game regular season with an annual All-Star Break centered around the MLB Draft.

The league does not have divisions, but teams will play an unbalanced schedule with a primary opponent. Those pairings consist of the following: Mahoning Valley Scrappers and West Virginia Black Bears, State College Spikes and Williamsport Crosscutters, Frederick Keys and Trenton Thunder.

This 3/8-mile semi-banked, dirt and clay oval track has been an auto racing tradition since 1929 and offers weekly races from April through September. Hartford native and NASCAR Nextel Cup driver Dave Blaney is part owner of this racing complex. Check the website for race schedules, updates and special events.

This club offers a variety of events and activities for members and their families including a hunter education course; CMP and CCW classes; youth fishing derby and archery program; both youth and adult pheasant hunts; Jake’s Day; and more. Owned and operated by the Economos family, this downtown restaurant has been a Warren institution since 1916. Brothers Harry and Nick Economos bought the restaurant in 1935. Then in 1960, Harry's son, Jim, joined his father and uncle in managing the restaurant. In 1988, the third generation of the Economos family, Chrisi and Eric Economos, Jim's daughter and son, became partners in the restaurant. Upon Jim's death in 2015, Chris and Eric proudly continue to serve their loyal clientele. 

Nothing but delicious, home-style cooking is served here. Customers can eat in or take-out. Two private dining rooms are available and can accommodate up to 30 in the back room and up to 50 in the front. Jorge Carreno and his wife, Amy, are cooking for success at Margherita’s Grille in Girard.  Family traditions inspired not only Margherita's cooking but also the restaurant's name.  Their made to order Italian dishes are traditional classics, and their fresh pizzas are cooked in a stone oven using their in-house dough.

In May of 2001, Ottavio and Bridget Musumeci purchased the restaurant and have taken it to new levels. They’ve added a wide variety of dinner specials, garden-fresh ingredients, an ever-changing wine list, and catering for businesses and parties to name a few. Ottavio, born and raised in Italy, brings his knowledge of international cooking to our kitchen. Bridget, who was born and raised in Warren and studied as a sous chef in Italy, adds a knowledge of the local market to the business. Together they work to make your dining experience everything that you wish for.

Graduates of LaBrae HS ~ Class of '85, Cliff and Annette Diles have come back to serve the community of Leavittsburg, Ohio. 

Annette graduated from the University of Akron with a dual degree in Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management. Cliff and Annette owned and operated a catering business for 10+ years.

In 2007, Cliff and Annette's vision of a neighborhood  market/cafe came to fruition.

Diles Market and Cafe offers everything from beer, wine and lottery to delicious homemade soups, salads, pizzas, burgers, chicken and their famous Belt Buster sub.

We are a small mom and pop restaurant in the wonderful city of Hubbard, Ohio. Make sure you take a walk down Main St when you visit and explore our wonderful shops. We have homemade Ethnic food made daily in house. Pierogi is made fresh everyday.

Have you ever had a bowl of ramen? No, not from a microwave. I love the instant noodles as much as the next guy, however, my mind was blown the first time I slurped a bowl that was crafted with love and quality ingredients. I still remember that first broth sip, it was like nothing I had ever tasted. I was pulled away from my work as a chef in Cleveland by the Chef/Owner of the restaurant I worked at. My Chef said "follow me", and proceeded to lead me down Euclid Ave. to a now defunct noodle shop. My boss's purpose had nothing to do with noodles, but that's the only part of that meeting I choose to remember. After those chewy noodles, piping hot broth, and savory pork I was hooked. 

I've spent the last ten years seeking out anything ramen. I've read books, I've slurped noodles, all in an effort to perfect my ramen. I took awhile for the truth to hit me... Ramen isn't meant to be perfected, it's meant to be an expression of who's making it. I will always be "practicing" my ramen, and as long as I continue to grow and evolve, so too will my ramen. 

That brings us to noodlefun. I consider myself blessed to be able to continue my ramen practice for a broader audience. With noodlefun, I want nothing more than to create a place for friends to gather, or grab a quick bowl of noodles and get on with their day. I want to serve your first bowl of "non-instant" ramen, I hope to become your favorite bowl of ramen, and maybe I'll serve someone else that life changing bowl of ramen too.

It's a family affair at Pesa Italian Rolls. When asked what inspired them to start this business, they said it was because of the demand for good quality rolls made by a family that cares about their work and loves what they do. They also see the business as a tribute to their family’s Calabria, Italy heritage.

The rolls are made with a long-standing family recipe.  Jenna is a third-generation roll maker, and Grandma Edie still makes her own every Saturday evening for the traditional family Sunday dinner.  Today they make the popular pepperoni, spinach, salami, cheese, and hot pepper rolls fresh daily in-house. Kimberly (Jenna’s mom and business partner) began selling her rolls at the local farmers market and quickly discovered the demand they created.

This newly-renovated center, which hosts one of Ohio's largest Grecian festivals every July, is the perfect location for large banquets, special events, weddings, trade shows, seminars, civic dinners and other large functions.

The large hall can accommodate up to 300 guests while the small banquet room while the smaller banquet room is available for smaller functions of 125. The outside Pavilion can also be rented and accommodates up to 300 people. Catering services by be provided by any of the center's preferred caterers.

This beautiful structure, which was designed by renowned architect Harold Wagoner and took nine years to build, sits on 12-acres of land on Warren's northeast side. The breathtaking stained-glass windows, hand-crafted needlepoint kneelers and Casavant-Freres pipe organ with its 61 horizontal copper pipes, are just three of the many reasons to stop by for a tour.

Home to the Warren Philharmonic Orchestra, the church is also the perfect venue for small business retreats and meetings. The newly-renovated church hall features a state-of-the-art audio visual system including sound and a stage. A total of 200 can be comfortably seated for dinner at both round and rectangular tables and theater seating can accommodate 350. A commercial kitchen is available for use by the church's preferred list of caterers which include: Aulizios's Banquet Center & Catering; DeLucia's Catering; and Saratoga Restaurant & Catering.

For couples planning a wedding, one call does it all. The outdoor garden is the perfect backdrop for both engagement and wedding photographs. The church interior is an elegant setting for the ceremony. And the air conditioned church hall is the perfect venue for the reception.

Located just down the street from the Mocha House in the historic Hippodrome Building, this new banquet facility is the perfect venue for meetings, special events, dinners and weddings. Up to 300 can be accommodated and catering is provided by the Mocha House.
