The Lake Tavern

Originally built in 1837 by Daniel and Polly Lake, this Mecca landmark has been fully-restored and is now home to a local neighborhood tavern. The hand cut beams above the bar are original and the bar top, which is cut from one of he basement beams, is made of chestnut. Upright posts and the wood around the lower half of the dining area are from the original building. The wood frame around the rear entrance door was originally the entrance for the Mecca Town Hall.

This family-friendly establishment, which is owned by John Palasics, serves up American pub grub including seafood, pasta, chicken dishes, soups, daily specials and any type of burger made from beef, chicken and bison. Known for their chicken wings and burgers, the restaurant has won many food competitions year after year.

In the winter, the heated enclosed porch serves as an alternate dining area away from the main room. During warm weather, seating is available on the back porch patio overlooking Mosquito Lake.
