“Trumbull County Features The Wall That Heals”

A Program of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund

WARREN, OH: The Warren Heritage Center and Trumbull County Veteran Services are honored to announce an exact replica of one of the nation’s most well-known historic monuments, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. The Memorial Replica, called “The Wall that Heals” along with its mobile Education Center will be displayed on the South Lawn of the Packard Music Hall in Warren, OH and will be visiting Trumbull County, August 16th thru 19th

The massive 375-foot display stands 7 ½ feet tall at its highest point and will be open 24 hours a day to the public. The Wall honors the more than 3 million Americans who made the ultimate sacrifice for this nation, serving in the U.S. Armed Forces in the Vietnam War. The Wall that Heals bears the names of more than 58,000 men and women who gave their lives fighting to defend this country. “We are beyond excited to have such a national treasure make a stop in our community. This will be able to give people the opportunity to have the closure that they might have never received” stated Jim Valskey, Program Coordinator and President of the Warren Heritage Center.

The Wall That Heals and Mobile Education Center provides a great educational experience to people of all ages while giving recognition to those who served and gave their lives in one of the most brutal wars in history. Warren was chosen as the only Ohio stop of 38 sites for the 2018 National Tour. “The location of the Memorial in Northeast Ohio provides a convenient location for people from all over the region including Pittsburgh and Cleveland to learn and pay respect to sacrifice those that served made,” says Beth Carmichael, Executive Director of the Trumbull County Tourism Bureau. Admission is free and throughout the 4 days, there will be special events held to add value to the experience. The events include:

  • Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 11 AM: Opening Ceremony with Welcome Home Dedication. The Welcome Home Dedication will have Congressman Tim Ryan presenting Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pins to any living U.S. veteran in attendance who served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces, regardless of location, from November 1, 1955 – April 30, 1975.
